  • Day 9 of 365

    Day009_2

Ok I lied. I didn’t just have a Fat Tuesday. I’m having a fat week. HAHA!

Today, I went to Arigato’s for the first time in like, 6 months or so. I think the last time I went was with my left butt cheek (AKA Lorraine my love), and that was definitely a really long ass time ago. I almost forgot how to get there.

So, I’m on day 9 of my 365 photo project, and so far this is my 5th picture that contains food. I really feel like a heifer. It’s almost like the highlight of each of my days is when I get to eat. But it really isn’t like that! It’s not really the food I enjoy, it’s the people I get to eat it with. LoL! (OK, half of my highlight involves me enjoying the food…)

I was driving home from the Fil-Am Joint Meeting thinking about what I’m going to talk about for my POTD (Photo Of The Day), which was when I realized I have hella food pictures. It really made me feel fat. Two days in a row, I was sitting at Chevy’s enjoying my margaritas, and due to the discomfort of my huge bloated stomach, I had to unbutton my pants to make some room!

And then, I was chatting on AIM with my GrandLittle, Jasmine, and told her how I’m always complaining about the weight I’m gaining and how I’m overweight, yet I really don’t put enough effort into getting rid of it. I try diets or slimming off those extra unnecessary snacks and foods like sweets and soda. I’ve tried exercising. But really, no more than a week later, I’m back to my old habits. It’s kind of hard for me to keep my motivation up.

So I had a revelation. I think I might have figured out a way I can do better to stick to losing weight. Unfortunately, it’s going to have to wait another year.

My current Project 365 is focusing on Reflection. I dedicate myself to taking the time to reflect on my day and put more thought into ideas and… well, basically anything that could provide a food for thought not only for myself, but to my readers as well.

Next year, I want to still continue a 365 project, except it’s going to be a NEW project. I’ll call it “Project 365 Healthy Living.” And I think each day I’ll change something in my way of living that would promote a healthier life. Like, one day I’ll give up soda. The next day I’ll give up eating after 9pm. The next day I’ll start eating more vegetables. The next day, I’ll dedicate myself to running at least twice a week. And so on. I’ll still take a photo a day of whatever it is related to this new healthy lifestyle I’m trying to go for.

So this project won’t start until next year. So I hope you all help me and remind me that that is my next project, and that I keep my goal set. Haha.

And I feel like my project 365 will change each year. And I hope to continue to do something each year with an ultimate goal and purpose for each year. It’s a long way from now, so let’s see if that will actually go through.

    Day008_2

    January 12, 2010

Today was a Fat Tuesday for me. Today, I feel fat… for obvious reasons. Haha.

It was $1.25 Fish Taco Tuesday at Rubios. And then to top that off, we had dessert at Fentons! Whoohoo Fentons! You know, the Fentons from the movie UP? Yes the ice cream place does exist. Unfortunately, only two. One in Vacaville, and the other in Oakland area. But yeah, me and Fred split and Black & White. It was DELICIOUS!

I don’t have a picture, but I also went to happy hour at Chevys with a group of friends for a couple margaritas. Definitely a super bloated Fat Tuesday for me. It’s gonna take me a few days to knock off those extra pounds I gained. Oh well.

I love catching special meal deals at restaurants. It’s the best feeling knowing that I was able to wait a certain day and/or time to eat at a certain place just to save a couple bucks or so. Being a broke college student, it really is helpful saving those extra pennies and dollars.
  • Day 7 of 365

    Day007

    January 11, 2010

I baked a dozen chocolate chip cookies to satisfy a sweet tooth craving.

Eating cookies reminds me of Angelica Pickles from the Rugrats. She loves cookies. And there was even an episode devoted to her love of cookies and going through cookie withdrawals after trying to give them up. Haha.

I miss those cartoons from back in the days. Cartoons now are more animated. They aren’t “cartoons” anymore. And even animated kids TV shows are scarce. You turn on Nickelodeon and it’s Drake and Josh or iCarly. They’re all reality stars. Why?

I feel like cartoons help influence a child’s imagination. With reality TV shows, kids can’t imagine things anymore. Instead, their imagination is made up for them.

But I guess reality TV shows give real life role models for kids to look up to. Like… Hannah Montana. But wouldn’t it be more heartbreaking when a kid finds out their role model grows up to become something scandalous? Or does something to disappoint them? Or even worse, the person portrayed in their favorite TV show isn’t who they thought they were. Because after all, they’re just actors.

At least with cartoons, you’ll never really meet them in real life. And there’s no chance of the cartoon characters to break any laws or grow up to be a bad influence on your children. Right?

Well, there’s some food for thought.
